Day 6 – 22 November 2011 – My working life

My first job after graduate from poly is located at Woodland and I staying at Tampines. The journey to work is similar to the Chinese Monkey God , Sun Wu Kong’s story – Journey To The ‘North’! The travel time from Tampines to Woodland takes about 1 hour 30mins. This job lasted for 3 months, not because of the journey,  it was because I doesn’t like the jobscope at all. I guess when I just graduated from poly, was too eager and rush to get myself into a fulltime job, thus I accepted this job position.

My second job is at a freight forwarding company and stationed at the customer’s office at Loyang as logistics operation officer. It was by far, the most fun job I ever had till today. I was the only female staff in my department, but no, I didn’t receive special treatment like a princess there. In fact, I got bullied most of the time by the guys! Oh well, I guess they need girls to take care them in the office, like getting them chocolates, tissues and nag at their lazy-ness and dirty-ness. And I met my first and only boyfriend at there! He was 1 of my colleague who bullied me (the most!). I left that place because I think I should and I can take up more challenges.

Colleague's engagement day!

My farewell gift by GAI!

My third job is at a freight forwarding company too but as a customer service officer. The job is hectic and OT is required everyday. It had thus, affected my studies because I am not able to reach school on time. Most of the time I was late for 30mins to 1 and a half hour.

In the office!

My current job, which is my fourth job is at Loyang too as a purchasing officer. The good thing about this job is it starts at 8am and ends at 5pm. No OT required as I am able to finish my job on time before 5pm. The BEST thing of the job is I have 21 days annual leave! Yes, annually!!!! I am able to use the leave for my studies – exam! The job is kinda stress free, managers are understanding and colleagues are helpful and lovely. Most of the managers in my company are Caucasians, thus I get to understand different country’s culture like New Zealand, England and America. The way of working with Caucasians is different with Asian. I had learnt a lot in this company.

Farewell, Our Vice President!

Oh, i sort of have a leisure ‘job’ too, scuba diving!

We just love the sea

My dream job, as the previous post, a wedding/event planner! I had decided to look for this job once I graduate from UniSIM. I believe with my knowledge in purchasing, logistics and planning, I might able to get my dream job pretty soon! *cross finger* At least I try =)

p/s: no video of my work place today as I’m current on leave, studying for my exam. Will be back to work on Thursday. If my work is fine, I might able to steal some time in the office to film a short video!
